SELECTION, SAFEGUARDING & DISCRETION

The right fit.
Clearly considered.

Subject expertise, personal fit and clear responsibilities before a placement begins.

Start with the student

The brief covers subjects, curriculum, learning style and interests, alongside dates and household expectations. The tutor is sourced from our extensive tutor and partner network.

Explore the fit

We discuss the proposed tutor’s relevant experience and teaching approach. An introductory conversation helps the family and tutor explore rapport, the timetable and expectations.

Confirm the checks

We seek confirmation from the relevant tutor or partner of the checks applicable to the role and location:

  • Identity, relevant qualifications and references.
  • Applicable background checks and safeguarding arrangements.
  • Experience suited to the subjects, students and setting.
  • Any specialist requirements or permissions.

Before you commit, we explain what has been confirmed and who carried out the checks.

Agree boundaries and contacts

Confirm supervision outside lessons, appropriate teaching spaces, travel responsibilities and how concerns are raised. Teaching, preparation and time off are agreed separately. Personal information is shared only with your separate permission.

PRACTICAL ANSWERS

Your next questions.

Can we speak to a tutor before deciding?

Yes. An introductory conversation can be arranged, subject to availability, to discuss teaching style, interests and expectations. Relevant experience, checks and the placement terms are also confirmed before commitment.

Are all tutors checked in exactly the same way?

Checks depend on the role and location. We seek confirmation of identity, references, relevant qualifications, applicable background checks and safeguarding arrangements. Before you commit, we explain what has been confirmed for the proposed tutor and who is responsible.
